Hi,
I have the opportunity to give a short presentation about the importance of breathing. Instead of going into the details I think it's better to show some breathing exercises and let the audience experience the benefits themselves. Does anybody have suggestions for breathing exercises that are quick, can be done standing or sitting and give the audience a good experience that motivates them investigate the topic further?

Re: Suggestions for quick breathing exercises/stretches
Thu, April 2, 2009 - 9:22 AMFor something to start with, try starting with abdominal breathing. Nothing fancy. Inhale 5 seconds and exhale for 5 seconds by just focusing the breath on the lower abdominals. It's very cleansing and calming to the nervous system. You can have them do it 5 times and then share the experience. I always teach this in my yoga classes. It gets people out of their heads and into their body.
Good luck!
